MACSEYE’s priority of access approach aims to support children at risk of disadvantage to access a kindergarten program, and to support participation of children with a connection to the co-located Catholic school community. In prioritising kindergarten enrolments, MACSEYE prioritises children first on the basis of Victorian Government priority of access criteria:
- Children at risk of abuse or neglect, including children in out-of-home care
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children
- Asylum seeker and refugee children
- Children that meet the eligibility criteria for the Kindergarten Fee Subsidy (includes Commonwealth Health Care Card holders, triplets/quadruplets)
- Children with additional needs
And then by MACSEYE’s own additional criteria:
- Children applying for a four year old program who attended a three year old program at the service
- Siblings of children enrolled at the co-located Catholic School
- Enrolled at co-located Catholic School in 2027 (4yr old kindergarten eligible)
- Children whose siblings attend or enrolled at another Catholic School
- Children within co-located Catholic school enrolment boundary (catchment)
- Children who are baptised Catholic
- Children of MACSEYE/MACS staff
